About Us

Based in Los Angeles, California, and operating as Sherborne Media Finance, LLC, SMC Specialty Finance, LLC and through affiliates in the UK and the UAE – collectively “Sherborne Media” – we are a privately owned specialty finance business focused on debt solutions for media companies and media projects (primarily feature films and TV shows). We also provide executive producer and consulting services for selective media projects and producers.

Since inception in 2016, Sherborne Media has built a dominant market-leading position as the bridge and specialty lender of choice in Hollywood and beyond for non-studio productions, lending to more than 125 projects for an aggregate loan value in excess of $600M. Sherborne Media’s debt products primarily consist of short-term cash-flow facilities as well as specific asset-based longer-term facilities for suitable clients located and projects produced in North America, the UK, Europe, Australia, the MEA region and other international production hubs. Project-specific borrowers primarily comprise independently financed films or TV series with budget ranges from $10M to over $100M.

Through its affiliate, Stream Media, Sherborne Media also selectively develops, produces and finances its own IP and content, including rebooting The Strangers franchise, with ‘Strangers: Chapter One’ released by Lionsgate in May 2024 and generating more than $50M worldwide box office to date.

Sherborne Media is owner managed and has offices in Los Angeles, Abu Dhabi and London.
